You are FLAMAZING!

I was sharing conversation with my dear friend Wendy Gerlach and she reached into her purse while saying, I have something for you. What emerged from her purse was this miniature pink flamingo. It was adorable. It was what Wendy said after this that really spoke into my heart. You are FLAMAZING, she said. And then she proceeded to share a sheet of something she wrote about the flamingo. I got permission from her to share this today. EnJOY because you, too, are FLAMAZING!

Majestically Awkward but…

Filled with purpose!

When you look at the Flamingo, do you ever think about how uniquely beautiful God created this amazing bird to be? Flamingos are designed so differently from other birds. What most people think is a backwards knee, halfway up their leg, is actually their ankle. They stand and sleep on one leg, they eat upside down underwater and what they eat turns them pink from the inside out, literally.

Some might say that the flamingo is majestically awkward and I’d have to agree, but they stand with confidence in who God created them to be. There were no mistakes in the way they were created. All those things that make them seem awkward to the rest of the world, are actually God’s gifts to them.

Like the flamingo, we too can sometimes feel… well, majestically awkward. Sometimes in life, like the flamingo’s back bending ankle, we can feel or look like we’re being pulled back by situations or circumstances. Whether those situations are in our control or completely out of our control, God designed and purposed us to continue moving forward.

So, dear friend, no matter what struggles you might be going through now or in the future, remember that even when it look like situations in your life might be going backwards, God’s plan and purpose for you is to ALWAYS move forward. Keep going. You were designed for greatness. Stand tall in your awkwardness and embrace all the wonderful ways that God made you different. I think Dr. Seuss said it best when he said, “Why fit in when you were made to stand out?”

Remember what makes you different, makes you beautiful.

With love, from your majestically awkward friend, Wendy Gerlach.

I can’t think of a better month to share this blog than during the “month of love.” If Wendy’s words inspire you, I encourage you to check out her FLAMAZING photographs at https://www.wendygerlach.com/  I am honored to call her friend. I am also thrilled that she will be one of the guest presenters in my 8-week Believe in Your Brilliance group experience.

Blessings, Peace and JOY –
