I recently listened to a video by thought-leader Rick Tamlyn who was discussing what it means to initiate. There was a question about what individuals could or would want to initiate in their world. This led to a further development of the word “movement.” Because, if we really think about it, isn’t initiating something really starting a movement?
As I thought about the concept of “initiate,” I got caught up in a bunch of IN words:
- Inspire
- Invite
- Instigate
- Invoke
- Interesting
The more I looked for a connection to all these words, the more I still saw that tie into movement. When I reflect on movements I have witnessed, all the IN words are there. In my own journey, I’ve always wanted to start a JOY movement. I even wrote it down several years ago after reading The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek. I put, in writing, that my infinite game was to start a JOY Movement.
Let’s see if it passes the IN test.
- The JOY Movement inspires myself and others.
- The JOY Movement invites others to be a part of it.
- The JOY Movement instigates more JOY and encourages others to start their own movement.
- The JOY Movement invokes joy, happiness, love, harmony, understanding, empathy, compassion and more!
- The JOY Movement is interesting. No matter anyone’s status, religion, race, financial position, job, etc., there can still be JOY!
How about you? Are you inspired to start a movement? What is your movement? What are the IN words in your movement? I’d love to hear all about it!
Keep SHINING in Your Brilliance!
